TALES FROM THE TRAILS | 'Hike On Thru'

My little two-day weekend was filled with decent quality time with Lindsay, my brother Brandon and his hiking partner from Germany, Hanna. Lindsay graciously hosted all of us for an evening in Prince George as Brandon and Hanna prepped for their two-week thru-hike from the north-western boarder of Kakwa Provincial Park down to Mt. Robson.

It's pretty fascinating watching these two get ready for such a long hike especially after Brandon JUST finished his 1200 km thru-hike from Waterton Provincial Park, South-eastern Alberta all the way up to Mt. Robson, BC on the Great Divide Trail. He posted an initial blog post before he left HERE. Needless to say, his shoes were fucked after that trek.

A couple photos from his visit to Williams Lake before he packaged and dropped his food supplies along his trail caches.

Brandon documented some of his previous long distance thru-hikes HERE on his Hike on Thru blog as well if you want to have a look.

So they filled their packs and in the morning I drove them about several hours into the back country until the road ran out and the trailhead began. See ya in two weeks!

Also, I stopped at Whoops' to see what the boys were up to in Williams Lake all weekend. A couple photos below will explain that one... As usual, they didn't disappoint.

Cory is a machine operator - that was a nice surprise!

Whoops and Bowdrie got a new puppy too - that was a nice surprise!
